Meet our staff

Lifeguarding and cashiering at the swim center was my first job as a sophomore in High School. My employment continued for 8 years getting me through college at the University of Nevada, Reno where I graduated with my BS degree in Human and Community Sciences. I went on to work in other professions, lived in other states, until I chose to return to Douglas, the community I was raised in. I was at a point in my life where I wanted to “give back” to the community that gave so much to me and my family. I was elected to the Board of Trustees for the East Fork Swimming Pool District and served for 3.5 years until resigning to apply for the Assistant Director position and now serve as the Director. I have certifications in aquatic risk management, school of executive leadership, pool operations, lifeguarding, CPR, AED and Oxygen use. I am also a graduate of “Leadership Douglas County” class of 2015. I am blessed to be a part of a profession and facility that provides so much to our community. Through the swim center, I am given the opportunity to work with all ages, be part of an amazing team of professionals and watch what incredible healing occurs around water and the sport of swimming for our patrons. We are “Your Community Pool.”

Moved to the Carson Valley in 1999 and have loved living in this community. Spent a lot of time at the Carson Valley Swim Center with my four children while they were growing up, they went on to work at the pool as well during their high school and college years. I started working at the Carson Valley Swim Center 5 years ago as a part-time bookkeeper. My job has evolved into a full-time position with job duties including supervising cashiers and overseeing the front end operations and finances. I swam competitively as a child and have always loved water. Who wouldn't love working at a place where you can wear flip flops year round!

Aquatic Supervisor EMT

I have been involved in swimming since 1970. In 1975 I finished 6 TH in the National AAU Championships. That qualified me for the 1976 Olympic Trials. I graduated from Lodi High School in 1976 with All American honors. I attended the University of Pacific in Stockton California and was named a division one All American in 1977. During my journey, I had the opportunity to compete in World Meets in London England in 1975 and Amersfoort Holland in 1976 in which I finished third in the 400 meter I.M. In 1978 I retired from my true passion swimming. At that time I started my career in the baking industry which lasted thirty years. At present I am an aquatic supervisor at the Carson Valley Swim Center and have been for the last six years. My number one goal, at present, is to give back to others what swimming has given me. Recently, I became certified as a U.S. Master Adult Swim Instructor. I am still learning about this wonderful sport and have no plans of retiring this time!
